My letter emailed to St. Louis Democratic City Central Committee and State Democratic Party Executive Director Lauren Gepford.
This letter serves as notice to St. Louis Democratic City Central Committee and Missouri Democratic Party that I have resigned, effective 6 am Today, October 11, 2019, from Central Committee and sever all ties to the Missouri Democratic Party.
This leaves 7th Ward Committeeman Marty Murray, Jr. to do what I did, focus on the 7th Ward and take responsibility for organizing within the 7th Ward. I’m sure that he will enthusiastically support 5th Ward Committeeman Rasheen Aldridge, Jr., the party’s nominee for 78th District, with a mailing, ballot, GOTV (as I and 7th Ward Independent Democrats would have) and will soon work with 7th Ward residents to organize an open ward organization to replace 7th Ward Independent Democrats, which has dissolved.
I am a lifelong Democrat as were my parents and grandparents before me. I will continue to support and vote for Democrats. But I will not be affiliated with organizations that associate with an all you can drink for $10 an hour, Netflix & Chill* vibe concept bar and ridiculous claims that Pedialyte sobers people up. I know too many people killed or injured by drunk drivers, too many with the chronic disease of alcoholism, too many with liver damage from drinking, to think this bar and data mining scam is an acceptable business for State Party and Central Committee to partner with. Shame on all of you that go to Tuesday’s Watch Party at part-time Recorder of Deeds Michael Butler’s bar.
Met some really wonderful, hard working, smart people in my time on Central Committee. I want to single out Kathy Gamache for doing the thankless job of Secretary for the organization. There have been misunderstandings between the two of us over the years but I have always respected her and appreciated her work.
But the organization run things differently, behaves differently, than every other Democratic Party Central Committee in Missouri and that’s a recipe for disaster. Between redistricting down to 14 wards and the STL Approves ballot issue (a campaign funded by dark money) for nonpartisan elections and defunding Central Committee, there’s a blood bath coming.
I will continue blogging at Great State of St. Louis, the site with the Airport Privatization News Feed and Board of Freeholders News Feed updated every day or two, and have converted the 7th Ward Independent Democrats website to 7th Ward St. Louis, retaining previous content including candidate surveys.
Peace and good health to all of you and your loved ones.
